Councillor Marks is married to his wife Janet and together they have raised two daughters, Becky and Katie.  He is proud of his farming background and maintains a strong connection with his farming roots.

Councillor Marks has served on Central Elgin Council since 2001 and was elected to the position of Deputy Mayor during the 2006 Municipal Election.

Councillor Marks serves as a County Council representative on the Elgin St Thomas Public Health board; and on the Social/Entertainment Committee.
