The County has an active Emergency Plan, which is tested on a regular basis. In accordance with Emergency Management Act, the County has achieved the Essential Community Emergency Program Level. The four key components of emergency management are: prevention/mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.

The County will continue to work to achieve the Enhanced and Comprehensive Program Levels consistent with the legislation.

An emergency is a situation or impending situation caused by the forces of nature, an accident, an intentential act or otherwise that constitutes a danger of major proportions to life or property.

Emergency response begins with you, the individual, then the community, then the province, then the federal government.
